Hundreds flocked to Merry Hill to explore the opportunities and talent on offer at Mike’s 8th annual Jobs & Skills Fair.
More than 40 organisations and hundreds of local people met face-to-face at the annual event organised by Mike, and later spoke of a “great buzz” at the “well organised” event which saw a wide range of job and training opportunities on offer for everyone.
Employers such as Smyths Toys Superstore saw queues of candidates applying for roles and Smyths alone said they had lined up 27 promising candidates for interviews.
Mike, said:
“We have had some really great feedback and I am absolutely thrilled with how useful this year’s event has been in helping local people find the next step in their career.
“Hundreds of people have applied for jobs, and our colleges and education course providers have signed up loads of new students too.
“While we currently have a record number of people in work in the UK, we all know there are vacancies that need filling and good paying careers available for people who are willing to consider doing something different.
"As well as thanking all of the employers and organisations who came along on the day, I also want to give a big thank you to Merry Hill for sponsoring and hosting us again this year.”
Jonathan Poole, Centre Manager at Merry Hill said:
“We were delighted to support the Dudley South Jobs and Skills fair. On the day hundreds of visitors from the local community attended the event and explored opportunities with our retailers and other national and international brands. We support over 8,000 jobs across the centre and back the mission to match local job seekers with their ideal position”.
As well as thanking all of the employers and organisations who came along on the day, I also want to give a big thank you to Merry Hill for sponsoring and hosting us again this year.
